How many times have you seen those coveted lists of Best Mothers to follow on Instagram, but Black mom blogs are rarely the focus of these lists which is a shame because Black moms are killing the game on Instagram.

Black mom bloggers are highlighting their lives whether it’s homeschooling their little ones, sharing recipes, showing you how to juggle work and parenting, stay-at-home moms, fashion conscious mom, and entrepreneurs alike.  Black mom bloggers offer advice we all can benefit from especially during these trying times.

These mommy bloggers share honest stories of what Black motherhood looks like including the ups, downs, and messes of being a modern mother of little ones.

Whether you are a new mom looking for advice, or an experienced mom looking for someone else who is in the struggle with you, these Black mom bloggers put it all out there on their Instagram feeds and continue it on their blogs in more detail.

While the pictures are pretty, this surgence of Black moms micro blogging and documenting what our daily lives looks like is an unprecedented public account of us raising the next generation.

✍🏾 HONESTY — ⠀ Lately I’ve felt conflicted again. Worried that I’m not doing something “right.” Concerned that my penchant for liking many things and being good at a great many more, is a detriment to my trajectory. Basically, can I do everything I want and still make an impact? What do I want to be known for? ⠀ As a multi-hyphenate talent I get caught up in my head a lot. Nervous that my writing will crowd the space where my love of cooking resides. And then my draw to style and fashion will be will diminish my power to speak life and pour into people. You see my dilemma. ⠀ In this one life we get we’ve been told we have to choose. Know exactly where our ten toes will dig in and put down roots. But I like the nomadic approach. I love learning and building up my knowledge bank in a way that allows me to pursue the life I envision. Whether that’s as a television writer or a television host. As an elevated home cook or “celebrity chef.” I love my blog and ultimately I get dressed because it makes 𝐦𝐞 feel good. ⠀ The reason I do it all is because I love it all. Building this brand means not limiting its reach. I want to touch people when they read my words and watch them come to life on screen and when they eat my food. Enraptured in each bite. My goal is to radiate style and elegance in the same way Diahann Carroll did and is remembered for. Because style leads culture too. ⠀ I woke up this morning questioning if I’m doing it right and I realized; I’m doing what’s right for me. And that’s enough. ⠀ 👀What’s the dream you feel nervous about pursuing, let me encourage you. Don’t let the world direct your path, forge one. Wouldn’t you agree? ⠀ ⠀ 〰️ #TheHautemommie #dreamstoreality #dreambig ✍🏾

Raise your hand if there was ever a time you know you needed to ask for help, but for whatever reason, you just didn’t? 🙋🏽‍♀️ You just smiled like I’m doing in this picture, knowing deep down inside you were struggling. #ClevelandClinicPartner⁣ ⁣ Maybe you thought you could handle it on your own. Or maybe you didn’t want to “𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯” others with your problems. I’m a serial “𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟” person and honestly, doing it all myself stressed me the hell out. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥: 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧. Especially not in these times with COVID19 adding more insult to injury. I’ve partnered with @clevelandclinic , who has a ton of resources to help people manage anxiety during this time.⁣ ⁣ I personally read an article on their website about how another mom copes with stress and manages anxiety. I knew that stress has a huge impact on mental health, but I just wasn’t making the connection. If you’re struggling, you are not alone. Get help if you need it. Use available resources. Find a therapist- mental health professionals are here for a reason. Talk to your loved ones, go for a walk, journal, have a glass of wine, do yoga, binge watch trash tv. Do anything, just do something.⁣ ⁣ Click the link in my bio to check out the article. And if you have any tips for managing stress and anxiety, drop them below. You never know who you can help with the info.⁣

While the world is over summer I’m hanging on to every morsel. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While the world has canceled 2020 I molded with the ebbs and flows of it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While many are suffering in silence many are winning loudly. Both are seasons and we all go through them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While the sun has proven to rise everyday, we have proven to evolve as a people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Life is happening around each of us, sometimes it feels like it happening to us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When these feelings come over me I do the following to make sure I am aligned: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Walk outside in the grass barefoot Watch G build something mind-blowing in Minecraft Pray Meditate Write what I am grateful for Write a list of all I have accomplished Hug my husband for no reason Lay directly in the suns brightest ray Play music Walk and talk with God Cry Smile Breathe deeply Call a friend I haven’t spoken to in a long time Plan for tomorrow Read books that feed my brain Just be… #MAments ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How do you navigate through those times when life is moving around you are moving directly through you. Energy is crazy busy and often if we aren’t aligned it can knock us off or feet. Stay the course dust yourself off and get back up! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #reset #gratitude #alignment #selfawarness #mentalhealth

Happy birthday to me!! 🥳🎂🎉 25 years old + 6 and I'm feeling so great that this post doubles as a giveaway! 🥳🥳 UPDATE: THE WINNER IS @jumi_ola 🙌🏾🙌🏾 . Yes my people! I have chosen to give instead of receive this year (even though some people refuse to hear word and still gave me gifts -thank youuu)! . My life is my testimony and I'm so happy that I get to share my story and journey through life with people who continue to show up and show out for me! I've not even posted Today and my DMs are already full with birthday wishes and story tags! My people are AWESOME and I love you all. . When I decided to start "sharing my life online", I only had one goal/mission and that was to help somebody out there. I did not picture being able to reach thousands at once, forming a community and turning my passion into a full time job as an Influencer. . As I've shared before, this whole thing started mainly because I did not see the represention I needed after my car accident. I will never forget when I searched Google in 2008 for "cute black girls in wheelchair" and Google came back next to EMPTY. A lot has changed since then but there's still a long way to go. . As the years passed, I've wanted to start @thelizzyofoundation to further support my mission to help people – especially those with disability – but never did. However, as you can now see, your girl has put every fear and uncertainty aside and is going full force! 🙌🏾 . . Wait, let's get back to the giveaway! ⚠️To enter my birthday giveaway: 1.🖤 Follow @TheLizzyoFoundation. Winner will be picked from the followers on the page. 2. 🖤 Leave a comment below. Any comment! 3. That's it. This giveaway is for YOU! ⚠️ PRIZE? $500 or its equivalent in your currency. The Giveaway is Open to everybody and ends on August 31st, 2020. I will pick ONE winner and I pray that the winner is somebody who will use the money to propel their lives towards greatness. …. Phew, that was a long caption… But I know my people will read it so no problem! 😉😝😀 #BirthdayGirl #Giveaway #VirgoNation #AugustBirthday #August24th

In #motherhood there are a few moments that can make me feel less than. Moments where I feel like I don’t have the answers and feel like a terrible mom. I don’t think people even remember but influencers, celebrities, anyone you look up to, they are struggling behind closed doors just like you. I am not one who pretends she knows all the answers. I am not one who wants to act like I do either. My #8monthold got a fever and everything felt like it stopped. I don’t sleep well, I don’t think well and I get anxious. She’s feeling terrible and makes it know. We have been nursing, letting her crawl around naked and doing everything under the sun to keep her happy. It wasn’t until you all stepped up and helped me through this time where things are uncertain, and came through with the best recommendations and advice that I remember why I love social media so much. Yes, we often compare ourselves with other people and their families. We compare lifestyles and home decor or maybe even spouses or pets. We live a life comparing and forget what we all got on here to do, which is to simply connect. I’ve connected with so many wonderful people who haven’t judged, who haven’t made me feel bad because I “should know and pick up a book and read,” and for that reason I say thank you. She is doing a bit better and we are praying through this. Just wanted to say I thank you guys for caring so much about us. From my hear to yours, we appreciate this community. #momwin #thankyou #rawmotherhood #honestmotherhood #motherhoodunited

IT'S IMPORTANT TO THINK ABOUT THIS AT LEAST ONCE EVERYDAY. Let's face it guys! Life can be stressful and annoying and upsetting sometimes. People can disappoint. Things and rewards you look forward to can fall to the wayside. In order to keep circumstances from bringing me super down, I try to focus and think about the things that make me happy and excited about life. . . Three things that make me excited about life right now are: (1) I'm loving my hair twisties right now. I feel like a 90's girl and the maintenance of this hair is so easy! (2) My sister, my mom, and my two nephews have been with me for 2 weeks now and I am so happy I get to spend time with them! (3) Whoever invented sweat shorts is genius because that is my uniform right now and I am loving them! . . Now you! Share just one thing that is making you excited about life right now! . . Check out this link here 👉🏾 or the link in my bio to see more sweat short options! #liketkit . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #blackbloggersunited #naijamamatribe #Houstonblogger #essencestyle #blackcreators #amplifyblackvoices #amplifymelanatedvoices #blackfamilytravel #blackmoms #blackmothers #loungewear #blackmomsblog #tiredasamother #momswhoblog #blackmothers #blackmoms #workingmomlife #workingmoms #blackbloggers #africanbloggers #workfromhome #stayathomemom #bossmom #wfh #discoverunder5k #crwnmag #melaninbloggers #microblogger #blackmommagic
