How many times have you seen those coveted lists of Best Mothers to follow on Instagram, but Black mom blogs are rarely the focus of these lists which is a shame because Black moms are killing the game on Instagram.

Black mom bloggers offer advice we all can benefit from especially during these trying times.
These mommy bloggers share honest stories of what Black motherhood looks like including the ups, downs, and messes of being a modern mother of little ones.
Whether you are a new mom looking for advice, or an experienced mom looking for someone else who is in the struggle with you , these Black mom bloggers put it all out there on their Instagram feeds and continue it on their blogs in more detail.

Ya know… Just standing here breastfeeding while Black… With a giant virtual plant on my head… Because I deserve. Because we deserve. #BlackBreastfeedingWeek, is necessary. Period. So much so, the CDC advised that if breastfeeding were to increase within the Black community, we could reduce the Black infant mortality rate by as much as 50%. As it currently stands, Black babies are 2-3x more likely to die before their 1st birthday, compared to their white counterpart. ALSO, breastfeeding lowers the risk of hormone related cancers (breast, ovarian, etc), Type-2 Diabetes, childhood asthma, and so much more… Quite literally, by encouraging breastfeeding, we are saving Black babies and Black women’s lives! I’m honored to share my breastfeeding journey for a very special @thelittlemilkbar_ IG Stories takeover! Head on over to @thelittlemilkbar_ & take a listen! #MadeByStereoLove

Raise your hand if there was ever a time you know you needed to ask for help, but for whatever reason, you just didn’t? 🙋🏽♀️ You just smiled like I’m doing in this picture, knowing deep down inside you were struggling. #ClevelandClinicPartner Maybe you thought you could handle it on your own. Or maybe you didn’t want to “𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯” others with your problems. I’m a serial “𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟” person and honestly, doing it all myself stressed me the hell out. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥: 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧. Especially not in these times with COVID19 adding more insult to injury. I’ve partnered with @clevelandclinic , who has a ton of resources to help people manage anxiety during this time. I personally read an article on their website about how another mom copes with stress and manages anxiety. I knew that stress has a huge impact on mental health, but I just wasn’t making the connection. If you’re struggling, you are not alone. Get help if you need it. Use available resources. Find a therapist- mental health professionals are here for a reason. Talk to your loved ones, go for a walk, journal, have a glass of wine, do yoga, binge watch trash tv. Do anything, just do something. Click the link in my bio to check out the article. And if you have any tips for managing stress and anxiety, drop them below. You never know who you can help with the info.

It’s the awkward black girl turning into a boss for me. ✨ Time to give a little #introduction to my new and old friends on here.⠀ ⠀ I’m Onyi - Motherhood, Wellness and Lifestyle blogger. I started my blog 9 years ago because I couldn’t find someone with a similar story as me. As I’ve built this 6 figure business, I’ve learned how to turn lemons into lemonade: being transparent with my online family.⠀ ⠀ For starters I grew up in Garland, Tx, went to undergrad in Houston and currently call San Antonio home but my roots are Nigerian to the fullest. ⠀ ⠀ I agreed to a first date with my husband because I was hungry, turned out to be the best meal I ever had 😏⠀ ⠀ On my platforms you’ll find me sharing about my marriage of 6 years, homeschooling preschoolers, along with physical, mental and financial wellness tips. We love couples and family travel but for now, we’re embracing that homebody life.⠀ ⠀ I’ve been practicing medicine as a Physician Assistant for going on 7 years and am currently fulfilling my purpose in Psychiatry.⠀ ⠀ I’m also obsessed with TikTok. If you know, you know. If you don’t, definitely give it a chance. You won’t regret it.⠀ ⠀ I Love learning about you so leave a little something below for us to get to know each other.

Happy birthday to me!! 🥳🎂🎉 25 years old + 6 and I'm feeling so great that this post doubles as a giveaway! 🥳🥳 UPDATE: THE WINNER IS @jumi_ola 🙌🏾🙌🏾 . Yes my people! I have chosen to give instead of receive this year (even though some people refuse to hear word and still gave me gifts -thank youuu)! . My life is my testimony and I'm so happy that I get to share my story and journey through life with people who continue to show up and show out for me! I've not even posted Today and my DMs are already full with birthday wishes and story tags! My people are AWESOME and I love you all. . When I decided to start "sharing my life online", I only had one goal/mission and that was to help somebody out there. I did not picture being able to reach thousands at once, forming a community and turning my passion into a full time job as an Influencer. . As I've shared before, this whole thing started mainly because I did not see the represention I needed after my car accident. I will never forget when I searched Google in 2008 for "cute black girls in wheelchair" and Google came back next to EMPTY. A lot has changed since then but there's still a long way to go. . As the years passed, I've wanted to start @thelizzyofoundation to further support my mission to help people - especially those with disability - but never did. However, as you can now see, your girl has put every fear and uncertainty aside and is going full force! 🙌🏾 . . Wait, let's get back to the giveaway! ⚠️To enter my birthday giveaway: 1.🖤 Follow @TheLizzyoFoundation. Winner will be picked from the followers on the page. 2. 🖤 Leave a comment below. Any comment! 3. That's it. This giveaway is for YOU! ⚠️ PRIZE? $500 or its equivalent in your currency. The Giveaway is Open to everybody and ends on August 31st, 2020. I will pick ONE winner and I pray that the winner is somebody who will use the money to propel their lives towards greatness. …. Phew, that was a long caption… But I know my people will read it so no problem! 😉😝😀 #BirthdayGirl #Giveaway #VirgoNation #AugustBirthday #August24th

In #motherhood there are a few moments that can make me feel less than. Moments where I feel like I don’t have the answers and feel like a terrible mom. I don’t think people even remember but influencers, celebrities, anyone you look up to, they are struggling behind closed doors just like you. I am not one who pretends she knows all the answers. I am not one who wants to act like I do either. My #8monthold got a fever and everything felt like it stopped. I don’t sleep well, I don’t think well and I get anxious. She’s feeling terrible and makes it know. We have been nursing, letting her crawl around naked and doing everything under the sun to keep her happy. It wasn’t until you all stepped up and helped me through this time where things are uncertain, and came through with the best recommendations and advice that I remember why I love social media so much. Yes, we often compare ourselves with other people and their families. We compare lifestyles and home decor or maybe even spouses or pets. We live a life comparing and forget what we all got on here to do, which is to simply connect. I’ve connected with so many wonderful people who haven’t judged, who haven’t made me feel bad because I “should know and pick up a book and read,” and for that reason I say thank you. She is doing a bit better and we are praying through this. Just wanted to say I thank you guys for caring so much about us. From my hear to yours, we appreciate this community. #momwin #thankyou #rawmotherhood #honestmotherhood #motherhoodunited
